Star & Manager Guide
Everything stars and managers need to know about managing designs, crowning winners, and running drops on TheDropVote.
Star Dashboard Overview
The star dashboard is your command center for managing everything on TheDropVote:
- Overview — See key metrics including total designs, active drops, and earnings at a glance.
- Design queue — Review community-submitted designs sorted by vote score.
- Drops — Manage your active, upcoming, and completed drops.
- Analytics — Track sales, engagement, and community growth.
- Settings — Configure your profile, content preferences, and payout information.
Reviewing Submissions
Your design queue shows community-submitted designs ranked by community votes:
- Designs are sorted by Wilson score, which balances total votes with vote ratio.
- The community has already filtered the best designs to the top for you.
- Click on any design to see it in full detail, including community comments.
- Use the “Message Designer” button to discuss changes or provide feedback.
- Designs you do not want will naturally filter out through time decay — no need to reject them.
How to Crown Designs
Crowning is the core action — it selects a design for production:
- Browse your design queue and find a design you want to produce.
- Click the “Crown” button to select it as a winner.
- Crowning triggers the production pipeline automatically.
- The designer and community are notified of the crowning.
- There is no reject button — simply do nothing for designs you do not want. Time decay handles the rest.
Crown-only workflow: Stars only crown designs they want to produce. There is no rejection — natural entropy filters the rest.
Recording Video Blessings
Video blessings are short videos where you react to or celebrate a crowned design:
- After crowning a design, you are prompted to record a video blessing.
- Record directly in the browser using your camera.
- Keep it short and authentic — 15-60 seconds works best.
- Video blessings are featured on the drop page and boost sales.
- Managers can submit blessings on your behalf, marked as team-submitted. You can re-record to replace them.
Managing Drops
Drops are crowned designs available for purchase. There are three drop types:
- On-demand — Always available. Products are printed and shipped as orders come in.
- Limited edition — Fixed quantity available. Once sold out, the drop ends.
- Campaign — Requires a minimum number of orders before production begins. If the goal is not met, orders are refunded.
Manage drop settings, pricing, and availability from the Drops section of your dashboard.
Manager Management
Managers are managers or assistants who act on your behalf:
- Invite managers — Send invitations by email from your dashboard settings.
- Set permissions — Control what each manager can do (review designs, crown, manage drops, etc.).
- Multiple managers — Add as many managers as you need for your team.
- Audit trail — Manager actions are logged separately and marked as “by Team” so the community knows.
- Limitations — Managers cannot modify payout settings or crown with full star authenticity.
Star Groups
Star groups let multiple stars collaborate under a shared identity:
- Create a group — Set up a star group with a name, description, and branding.
- Invite members — Add other stars to the group. They must accept the invitation.
- Shared queue — Designs submitted to the group are visible to all member stars.
- Collaborative crowning — Any member star can crown designs for the group.
- Combined analytics — See aggregated metrics for the entire group.
Analytics & Insights
Track your performance and understand your audience:
- Sales metrics — Revenue, units sold, and average order value across all drops.
- Design engagement — Vote counts, comment activity, and trending designs.
- Community growth — Follower count, new followers, and engagement rate.
- Top performers — See which designs and drops have performed best.
- Earnings breakdown — Detailed payout history with per-drop breakdowns.
Messaging Designers
Communicate directly with designers about their submissions:
- Use the “Message Designer” button on any design to start a conversation.
- Discuss changes, request modifications, or provide feedback.
- Messages include the design context so both parties can reference it.
- All messages are private between you and the designer.
- Managers can message designers on your behalf.
